As reported in the LA Downtown News, this year's LA Fashion Week, at least in part, will take place in Downtown LA after having been headquartered at the Smashbox Studios in Culver City since 2004. Box Eight is hosting several events from October 11th - 13th, but there are many other events throughout the city from October 8th - October 26th (yes, more than just a "week").Downtown LA is the center of the fashion industry in Los Angeles as well as the renown Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM).
